From the Will of Robert Mort of Middle Hulton, tanner 1728 Nov 5
In the name of God Amen I Robert Mort of Middle Hulton, tanner being of sound and disposing mind and memory and understanding
do make publish and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following viz
I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Mort ye summe of forty five pounds, the same to be in full satisfaction of all his claims Tytles 
and demands whatever out of any my lands tenements and hereditments or other estates. Unto Margaret my loving wife the annual or
yearly sume of four pounds during the term of her natural life. That my said loving wife Margaret shall have the little house in the fould
where I now dwell in Middle Hulton for a dwelling place during her chaste widdowhood.
Unto my son John Mort all the lands, tenements, personnel effects and remains of whole estate. I do hereby nominate and appoint my 
said son John Mort and Thomas Mather of Middle Hulton to be executors of this my last will and testament dated 20 Aug 1728.

I John Mort of Middle Hulton, in the parish of Deane, yeoman, this thirteenth day of March one thousand seven hundred and eighty four. First I
give and bequeath to my eldest son Robert this my estate which I now live upon, as to my son John I give him one shilling, and to my son
James one shilling. I give and bequeath to my three daughters Ann, Shannah and Margaret equally among them, share and share alike.
I do hereby nominate my son Robert Mort, Peter Bradshaw anf Thomas Hatton my executors.
Notes added to the will state: Ex and Adm to Robert Mort and Peter Bradshaw two of the exors. Thos Hatton the other renounced.

    John Mort of Farnworth his burial 3B. Here is interred the body of John Mort of Farnworth who departed this life upon the 24th day of
    August 1775 in the 44th year of his age. Likewise Margaret his daughter was here interred June 12th, 1771. Also Catherine his beloved
    wife who was here interred Jan 24th, 1810 in the 76th year of his age. Thomas Mort of Farnworth who died Apr 20th, 1823 aged 62 years.

    In the name of God Amen, I Catherine Mort of Farnworth in the County of Lancaster, widow……I give and bequeath unto my son Thomas Mort
    all the rest residue and remainder (if Any) of my said personal estate and effects with all my Goods, Chattels,Horses, Cattle, farming stock, and
    utensils Unto my said son Thomas Mort all my right to and interest in the cottage tenemet land and in the premises situate in Farnworth called or
    known by the name of High Field Lane End Farm now in my occupation and which I hold by virtue of a freehold lease from and during the natural
    life of Peter Rasbottom late of Farnworth but now of the county of Stafford, esquire subject only to the payment of several sums of thirty shillings
    a piece of lawful British money to each of my four daughters that is to say to Betty Lord of Kersley, widow Alice Watson of Farnworth, widow
    Mary Boardman of Little Hulton and Elizabeth Hindley of Farnworth. I do also give devise and bequeath unto my said son Thomas Mort all my right
    to and interest in a certain other farm now in my occupation called or known by the name of Mud Hole Farm and which I hold for and during the 
    natural life of James Parkinson of Farnworth aforesaid Butcher.
    Appoint my son Thomas Mort and James Rushton of Bolton le Moors, weaver my executors dated this sevententh day of December in the year
    eighteen hundred and nine. She made her mark.

    This is the last will and testament of me Thomas Mort of Farnworth, Farmer. I give unto my nephew Thomas Hindley the Bedstocks, bed  and bedding
    whereon I now sleep and unto my nephew JOSEPH Hindley my writing desk. I give all my wearing apparel unto and equally between my nephews John 
    Lord and Thomas Lord (sons of my sister Betty Lord deceased) Thomas Watson and Joseph Watson (sons of my sister Alice Watson) and Mathew
    Boardman (son of my sister Mary Boardman). To the Treasurer for the time being of the Farnworth and Kearsley Sunday School the sum of five 
    pounds to be applied to the purposes of the said school. I give my Farm House Cottage and land and appertenances situate at Highfield Lane End
    which is held by me under a lease from the Earl of Bradford, subject to  a rent of four pounds during the life of Peter Rasbottom now aged sixty six
    years, unto my sister Elizabeth Hindley the wife of Peter Hindley of Farnworth, weaver for all  my estate and interest. To my sister Mary Boardman
    wife of Peter Boardman of Little Hilton. In trust for all the children of my deceased sister Betty Lord, excepting her son James Lord for whom I do not
    make any provision under this will.
    I do hereby appoint Roger Holland, Robert Lord and Thomas Hindley executors, set my hand and seal Mar 18, 1823 and signed by Thomas Mort
Notes added to the will state Jun 6, 1823 Robert Lord of Farnworth, Manufacturer and Thomas Hindley of the same place Fustian Cutter, two of
the executors were sworn in common form under the value of £300
