Moringa Research Farm is a 16.57 acre farm at a short drive from the Giza pyramids outside of Cairo on the Assyuit Western Desert Road. Max (Mahmoud Max Hassouna) established this farm to grow the African variety Moringa stenopetala tree. This mazing tree has been called the “miracle tree”. It is fast-growing, almost indestructible, and drought-resistant. From the seeds, the pods, the bark, roots, and leaves, the moringa is the most generous giver of life enhancing nutrients and sustain the ecology.
Moringa Research Farm is a major partner in the IPNAMME project aiming at networking permaculture farms in Africa, Middle East and the Mediterranean and linking them to the rest of the world.
Mission Statement
Beside growing and distributing the invaluable Moringa crop, Moringa Research Farm works on disseminating knowledge, facilitating research and teaching skills concerning the Moringa tree and other highly-nutrient and medicinal crops in Egypt. We also promote the development of renewable energies, especially for the use on farms in Egypt.
