APPROACH TO YOGA
  • My Practice: I practice for strength in the Vinyasa Flow style, linking breath to movement with attention to graceful transitions and proper alignment—for stretch in the Yin Flow style, revitalizing joints and deep connective tissue. My early training began in 1980 at Ganga White’s renowned Center for Yoga in Los Angeles. Then in my third trimester of pregnancy, the transition from dance to carefully aligned asana felt natural, even inspired. Now my practice fuses the art of dance with the science of yoga in the powerful, lyrical flow of Vinyasa and Yin sequences. I study asana with master teachers in all styles, philosophy and meditation with the Sri Aurobindo Circle of Seattle.
  • Group Practice: Group classes challenge students to develop new skills in a safe and supportive setting. Students work at their own levels in balance with the collective energy of the whole class.
  • Intensive Workshops: Longer sessions allow more time to focus on specific issues such as flexibility, hip and spinal alignment, physical and emotional balance, stress relief and relaxation.
  • Individual Practice: Designed to address specific needs, private instruction refines alignment and movement technique, corrects problems, builds confidence and provides support for your home asana practice.
  • Meditation: Guided restorative postures, pranayama and meditation add depth to your personal practice in studio or at home.
