We conduct formation training throughout the year, and have FAA approval to fly to Oshkosh as a mass formation (bypassing the normal single-airplane Fisk arrival). Don’t be deterred if you have not flown formation, it’s easier than it looks and is easier than you might think. To date, everyone that has tried has succeeded; even those who came to a clinic with trepidation have left with a smile. You can do this and you’ll be glad that you did!
How does this work?
We stage in Madison, Wisconsin and depart in elements of 3 airplanes with 15 seconds between elements. When we get near Oshkosh, the tower clears our entire flight to land on 2 parallel runways. Two airplanes from each element land on one runway, the third lands on the parallel runway.
We conduct formation training throughout the year. See the training section for the dates and locations.
Not Just for Oshkosh
Our participants share a strong sense of camaraderie, and the friendship’s borne via our common interests in aviation and Mooney aircraft span the continent and the entire year between Caravan flights. The enjoyment and enthusiasm which we all experience at AirVenture doesn’t wear off; we keep it going throughout the year!
