FULL SIZE AND COMPACTS
2018 Montgomery County Demolition Derby Fair Rules “Updated”
Any American made cars allowed except the following: no limos, Hearse, Imperials, Imperial Sub-Frames, no 70 and older Lincolns allowed. No 2003 or newer Ford, Lincoln, or Mercury cars, frames or frame sections allowed.
Driver must be 16 Years of age to drive.
No driver under the influence of alcohol will be allowed to drive and no alcohol in the pits!
Car must have some kind of a safety restraint for the driver. Driver must have a helmet, fire suit jacket, or long sleeved shirt.
All drivers will have 1 minute to make an aggressive hit or flag will be pulled. No team driving allowed, you will be given 1 warning then flag pulled.
Don't hit drivers door, don't block with drivers door.
If it doesn't say you can in the rules don't do it Call First!
Car Building
All glass must be completely removed from the car. All trim, plastic, lights, moldings and fiberglass parts must be removed also. No decking in station wagons.
Factory gas tanks must be removed. Must have fuel tank securely mounted inside the car behind the front seat.
ABSOLUTELY NO WELDING ON BODY OR FRAME UNLESS SPECIFIED IN THE RULES!!!!
NO ADDING OR MOVING ANY BODY MOUNTS. ALL MOUNTS MUST BE STOCK UNLESS SPECIFIED!
You are allowed to replace body bolts with up to a 5/8 Bolt and 3" plate top and bottom.  Bottom plate must be inside frame.
Humps may be beat in on the outside and can notch rear frame.
Doors must be secured by weld or chain. Drivers door can be welded solid, the rest max 6” weld 3” gap between welds. Max of strap width 3” to weld doors.
Trunk can be secured by weld, chain or bolts. Trunks can be V-ed Tucked or Canoed.  You will be allowed 2 pieces of all thread in the trunk area where factory mounts are, with spacers the width of factory.  This means only 2 of the very rear 4 factory mounts and must have spacers the factory width and height.  You can solid mount the radiator support or run a spacer no height limit on spacer. Spacer can be welded solid.
Hood
The hood must be secured by AT LEAST 3/8 chain in all 4 corners or you may use up to 8 spots of all thread 3/4” DIAMETER sheet metal only. Front 2 may be attached to factory mounts, no welding all to frame. The hood must have at least 2 12” holes cut in it. Hood plates can only be 6” or less. You are allowed 12 3/8 bolts per opening to bolt skin together.
You are allowed 8 3/8 bolts and washers per wheel well opening. Washers can't be over 1.5” wide.
Drivers Protection
YOU MUST AT LEAST HAVE A BAR BEHIND SEAT, SIDE TO SIDE.
You are allowed to build a box inside the car around you: 1 dash bar,1 seat bar and 1 door bar per side. You may tie it to the frame in 2 spots per side, 4 total: 2 front 2 back. The fronts beingthe front door seam Straight up and down and the rear being in front of the body mounts behind front seat. You may run a roll over bar but it must be tied to the cage, if it is welded to the frame it will be considered the back 2 cage tie downs.
Must have 2 windshield bars bolted or welded to the sheet metal, only 4” max overlap.
Roll over bar must be straight up and down and located right behind or attached to seat bar. Seat bar must be right behind front seat. Seat must be in factory location.
You can have a gas tank protector, it has to only be attached to the seat bar, can be no wider then 30”, and it must have enough room between it and any sheet metal to slide a hand in between. Not all hands are the same so be generous!
Bumpers
Must be a factory bumper front skin and backing but maybe stuffed internally. Must use the factory brackets or shocks. You can weld bumper to the shock plate and to the frame. If you don't use the factory bracket, you will be allowed to use a piece of 4" by 10" 3/8" thick steel with a 4" bend to mount bumper on outside of frame.  No welding past 10" on Frame.
Rear bumper can be no lower than 15” the top of the bumper; front not over 22” to bottom.
#9 Wire
You are allowed 4 spots of #9 wire from the front bumper to radiator support, 4 spots on trunk to rear bumper.
You can use #9 wire to secure springs to the rear end.
Suspension
Must use STOCK suspension for the car you are running. No aftermarket spindles, ball joints, hubs, tie rods, etc. No adding mounts to frame to mount rear end. Must use factory mounts for that car. No watts conversion brackets.
You may raise or lower suspension with shocks, springs, bolts, shackles, or spacers. You can use 1 2”x 6” wide piece of strap per side on the front to secure upper control arm to the frame for ride height. NO flat stacking or adding leafs. Factory leaf pack only. Springs may be bolted or welded in to secure them to rear axle.
Homemade steering columns allowed.
You can run engine and trans of your choice. No trans braces of any kind. No aftermarket bell housings. Stock Only. If you don't run the stock cross member, you can run a 2x2 3/16 wall square cross member with 2x2 4" long to mount sides. SLIDERS ALLOWED. You can use a lower cradle but no FULL CRADLES OR DIST PROTECTORS. Engine must be in factory location or close to. You can trim firewall for dist clearance.
May run rear end of choice.  Humps can be chained with 2 chains 1 per side.  You can use 1 piece of 3/8 chain or 3 loops of #9 wire around rear frame rails.
You can run any aftermarket shifter, trans cooler, battery box or pedal of choice as long as they are safe and don't add strength to the car. They can't mount to frame they can only bolt to the floor sheet metal.
Frame repair
You are allowed 4 3/16 4x6" plates per frame rail for repairs the Cross member being the middle.  All plates must be welded flat.
NO RESTUBBING ALLOWED .

FWD Stock

-Must have heavy screen or some type of bars over drivers side windshield
-Battery may be moved to inside of car IF moved must have cover or in a box
-Doors, hood and trunk must be tied or welded down securely
-All cars must have working brakes
-Drivers door may have reinforcement on it (NO GRADER BLADES)
-Any tires are optional besides BEADLOCKS
-Wheel weights must be removed
-Must have a seat belt
-Need sign on top and drivers door that is readable (Must be BOLD)
-Must have opening on top of hood or no inner fender wells (In Case of Fire)
-No profanity on cars
-Make sure cars are cleaned out on inside from debris
-Must be OEM body
-No 8 cyl.
-CV Shaft must be painted white
-No supercharge

 FWD Open
-Any supercharged engine or 8 cyl.
-All glass must be removed, headlights, taillights, doors and windshields
-Must have a seat belt
-All cars must have working brakes
-CV shaft must be painted white
-Must have window net
-Need sign on top and drivers door that is readable (Must be BOLD)
-Must have opening on top of hood or no inner fender wells (In Case of Fire)
-No profanity on cars
-Make sure cars are cleaned out on inside from debris
-Drivers door may have reinforcement on it (NO GRADER BLADES)
-Optional on any tires
-Battery may be moved to inside of car IF moved must have cover or in a box
-Doors, hood and trunk must be tied or welded down securely
-Must have heavy screen or some type of bars over drivers side windshield

RWD Stock
-All glass must be removed, headlights, taillights, doors and windshield glass
-Battery may be moved to inside of car, IF moved must have cover or in a box
-Doors, hood and truck must be tied or welded down securely
-Must have heavy screen or some type of bars over drivers side windshield
-Drivers door may have reinforcement on it (NO GRADER BLADES)
-Any tires are optional besides BEADLOCKS
-Shock intake and carburetor
Wheel weights must be removed
-All cars must have working brakes
-Must have a seat belt
-Must have door net
-Need sign on top and drivers door that is readable (Must be BOLD)
-Must have opening on top of hood or no inner fender wells (In Case of Fire)
-No profanity on cars
-Make sure cars are cleaned out on inside from debris
-No plating
-Must have stock fire wall
-Headers are optional
-Motor must pull 17" vacuum at 1,000 RPM
-Drive shafts must be painted white
-No added weight
-Motor must be in stock location
-Motor must be stock appearing

RWD Open
-Must have window net
-Must have 4 or 5 point harness
-Must have fire suit
-Must have racing seat
-Must have heavy screen or some type of bars over drivers side windshield
-All cars must have working brakes
-Need sign on top and drivers doors that is readable (Must be BOLD)
-Make sure cars are cleaned out on inside from debris
-No profanity on cars
-Drive shafts must be painted white

-Other rules:  no convertibles, jeeps, vans, hearses, limos and El Caminos.
NO KIDS IN PITS UNDER THE AGE OF 12, NO EXCEPTIONS!!!!
NO ALCOHOL IN PITS UNTIL RACES ARE OVER
NO SWITCHING DRIVERS OR CARS FOR THAT RACE
FWD STOCK MAY MOVE TO FWD OPEN BUT MUST PAY FOR BOTH CLASSES AND LET CHECK IN KNOW BEFORE RACES START
