Library Advocacy

"At the moment that we persuade a child, any child, to cross that threshold, that magic threshold into a library,
we change their lives forever, for the better. It’s an enormous force for good. "   . . . . Barack Obama

California Teachers:  Join Stand up For Schools

On Friday, April 16th the LAUSD school board voted to fund all the Senior High School Library positions and close all Middle School Libraries.

We need your help!

The Library is a great resource to site administrators, parents, teachers and students.  What does closing the library mean?  It means no teaching of 21st century information literacy skills, no reading of great books, no equal access to information and no intellectual heart and soul of the school.

What can you do?  Write, call, volunteer.  Make your voice heard.  Details to follow.
