Steve and Jacqui's Pond

A front yard blitz.

Steve and Jacqui recently moved into a house in Sydney's north that had an old, disused pond in the front garden. While it had clearly been well designed, it hadn't been used for years. The concrete surface had cracked. It had a singularly nasty concrete bridge that obviously had to go.

We begin work in early June, 2006.

We have to remove the existing plants and weeds, some very reluctant to leave. We sieve the soil to remove corms, seeds and bulbs.

The self-sown jacaranda is particularly stubborn.
