Mongolian beef

Makes 4 Servings

Prep Time 20 Minutes

Ingredients:

1 pound tri tip beef ( sliced bite size pieces )

1/3 cup cornstarch

3 garlic cloves chopped

2 teaspoons minced ginger

1/2 cup beef broth

1/2 cup soy sauce

1 tablespoon hoisin sauce

1 teaspoon sesame oil

2/3 cup dark brown sugar

3 stalks sliced green onion

( 1-1/2 cup vegetable oil ) to fried the beef

1 tablespoon vegetable oil ( to sauté chopped garlic and minced ginger )

Remember to slice the meat against the grain. This will make the beef tender once its fried.

The fried beef should look like this. Remember do not fully cook the sliced beef at this point because you add it to the hot mongolian sauce which will cause the beef to finish cooking.
