Monash University community Bicycle User Group

Monash University Community Bicycle User group (McBUG) provides a forum for all alumnistudent and staff cyclists (Commuter, recreational and sport) from across Monash University campuses and associated communities to meet and greet. The group coordinates and works with a range of associated organisations across the various University campuses including but not limited to: the Monash Student Association Transport Office, Monash Sport, and the Bikery, a co-operative bike repair facility run out of the MSA Transport Office.

Activities include cycling breakfasts, providing information and advice on cycling routes to campuses, awareness of bike security and the encouragement of sustainable principles, such as cycling to work! In conjunction with Monash Sport, it promotes involvement in the Monash University “Team Monash” community fitness events program, with particular emphasis on cyclists’ participating in Around the Bay. Through “The Bikery”, it provides low cost parts and maintenance as well as a recycled bikes program for students and staff.

Happy riding!

McBUG is here to guide you in the right direction, from finding the safest route to campus or meeting up with other riders for a Sunday ride.
