Wednesday 3rd November 2010

We managed an attendance of just 25 last night – our smallest number for quite some time. But it was ‘Cup Day’ and lots of you had exams, or are deep in study, so numbers were OK in the circumstances

Additionally I received around 25 apologies – sincere thanks for that. But once again another 30 or so who didn’t turn up also failed to let me know.

Soon the hot weather will be with us – then we’ll have some away – ‘too hot’ – I can’t win !

·         A slightly different session this week – 8 minutes of ‘straights’ followed by  6 X 30sec efforts ( 30 sec jog recovery)

·         If on any Tuesday evening you can’t make it – a note (email or SMS) letting me know of this is always appreciated.

Welcome back to the squad – Victoria Sapoznikoff, who we hadn’t seen for some time

Len is safely in China – for the Asian Games

For your Diary

Some early notice of our proposed Christmas celebration – at this stage planned for Tuesday evening 21st December – after training – so at around 7pm. It’ll just be a BBQ – with salad etc. Cost to each around $5. I do hope for a huge attendance – to cap off a tremendously successful & enjoyable year. But more on this later.

Saturday Morning Hill Session at Jells Park

Our  Hill session WILL go ahead this coming Saturday morning (6th November) - at Jells Park, and I’ll be there for sure. I know some are competing in the afternoon – but if not I hope to see you in the morning on Saturday

We’ll meet as usual  at 8.30am SHARP out the front of the cafe – ‘Madelines”. Enter Jells Park from the entrance in Waverley Rd extension – opposite the Glen Waverley Golf Course.

Last Saturday the turnout was small again – just 5 plus me - in almost ideal conditions. With no competition this Saturday I hope for a sizeable turnout.

Of course we will be in action as usual on Tuesday evening next week, 9th November, and as usual we'll meet at 6.00pm for a 6.05pm sharp start -  Regardless of the Weather !

·          And we’re still located at the Baseball field, & using the pavilion over there. Access by car is quite good & parking is very handy - enter from  Ring Road East & go around to the Baseball field along the road  around the back (Wellington Rd end) of Oval 1. The pavilion has good toilet, shower (if needed), changing, & kitchen facilities.
