Tuesday 29th March

Well – we beat last week’s record numbers this week (Tuesday 29th) – by 2 - congrats to the 75 who attended last night.  Last night’s session was tough – 4 x 60sec efforts (60sec jog recovery), followed by 8 x 30sec efforts (generous recovery as I was in a good mood !) – congrats to all of you on handling this session within your capabilities.  Of course the 15 minute warm up & 15 minute warm down were done as usual – and lots of you managed the 5 or 6 easy strides at the end on the run.

We welcomed another four new people to our squad this week – Chris Spain, Leanne Chen, Ronald Liu, & Emma Kelly. In addition Gabriella Bornstein rejoined us after a break. A very warm welcome to all of you – and congratulations on your great participation on Tuesday evening.

It was great to welcome Len back from his latest overseas jaunt – this time he was in Spain for the World Cross Country Running Championships.

As discussed on Tuesday evening – please be careful with your valuables.  We always keep a good watch on the change room – and lock it if we are away (e.g. at the hill circuit), but it’s much safer if you can leave valuables/cash etc locked somewhere else secure. If no alternative – give valuables to me for personal safekeeping during the session.

Saturday Morning Hill Session at Jells Park

Our  Hill session WILL go ahead again next Saturday morning (2nd April) - at Jells Park, and I’ll be there for sure.  We’ll meet at the usual spot at 8.30am SHARP, out the front of the cafe – ‘Madelines’. Enter Jells Park from the entrance in Waverley Rd extension – opposite the Glen Waverley Golf Course.  Last Saturday’s session was excellent – nice day, record attendance, and 2 new faces – Nenad & Fissa.  Hope to see a huge turn out again next Saturday morning – rain or shine.

Congrats to Michael Robinson & Felicity Williams on their recent engagement. Both are former members of our squad – Felicity is now practicing in Ballarat – Michael still visits us occasionally.
