  • If you need to make up credits in order to graduate on time, please see your counselor ASAP.  Night school is available at several locations, you will need a co-enrollment form from your counselor to register.   All online and night school credits are due by May 26th, 2017 in order for them to be posted on senior transcripts.  Students who have not completed their credits by the end of exams should continue working on their credits and may be eligible for summer graduation.

  • The weight of each quarter grade is 37.50% of the final semester grade.

  • The weight of the midterm or final examination is 25% of the final semester grade.

  • To receive a passing grade for the semester, the student must earn a passing grade in:
    a. Both quarter grading periods, or
    b. One quarter grading period and the semester exam.

Online Education      

  • You are required to complete one course online to graduate.  One course is either a half credit course such as Driver's Education, Life Management Skills, Economics, Social Media, or a full credit course such as Spanish 1 (both segments), Algebra 2 (both segments) -only one segment is not considered a full course so it will not meet the online requirement.

Night School

  • If you wish to attend night school, you will need to meet with you counselor to obtain the necessary forms.
  • Your counselor will need to meet with you to discuss what courses to sign up for.

  • Bright Futures Evaluations
    Students and parents can see their latest Bright Futures Evaluations on Florida Shines here: Students would select Broward as the District, enter their last name and enter their Student Identifier Number. The Student Identifier Number is the student's EXTERNAL Number. Sometimes this number is the student's social security number with an "X" at the end, and sometimes it is the students 10 digit student number which usually begins with 06........

College Financial Aid

Got Mail? Many organizations are targeting you for a piece of the money pie!  Please remember to Beware of Scams! "" is targeting many students now. Applying for Financial Aid for college is a good thing and we do want all college bound seniors to apply online after January 1st. However it's important to know, when the time comes, go to the official website to apply for financial aid. It's available for FREE at:  What sometimes happens...students will google FAFSA because they know they need to do it and the first thing that comes up on the search engine is the .com company... with a hefty fee.

Transcripts and Letters of Recommendation

  • Many colleges do not require or take into consideration a letter of recommendation, however, if your college does require a letter of recommendation from your counselor, kindly give us two weeks to prepare your letter and provide us a Recommendation Request Form (also available in room 264).  Please also provide the address and contact person of the College, University or Scholarship program you are applying for.  Teacher recommendations would also require a two week advance notice.

  • Transcripts are requested in the main Guidance office.  There is a fee charged for transcripts ($1 electronic/$2 hardcopy).  


  • SAT Information and Test Registration (paper applications available in Guidance)

  • Remember, if you receive free or reduced lunch, you are eligible for a fee waiver.  See the BRACE Advisor in the Main Guidance office before the registration deadline.

  • For ACT and SAT admissions:  you MUST bring a valid photo ID and your ticket to be admitted on test day.  You will no longer be admitted to the test center without a valid ID even if the staff knows who you are. Also, plan ahead, you will no longer be able to register as a standby on test day.  See the SAT/ACT section below for information and links to the sites for more details.

Test Preparation:

Below are a few sites that can help you prepare for your tests.  Some are free and others will charge a fee. You can also go to the library or bookstore to get the SAT and ACT prep books.

  • Get Ready for the New SAT!   The PSAT/NMSQT and PSAT 10 are great ways to preview and practice for the SAT. They test the same skills and knowledge as the SAT — in a way that makes sense for your grade level.  When you get your test results, connect your College Board and Khan Academy® accounts to get free personalized SAT study recommendations.

  • Mu Alpha Theta students offer free peer tutoring for Math on Mondays and Thursdays in room 267 from 2:45 to 3:45.

  • ESOL Tutoring available on Thursdays in room 146 after school.
