The MOMS Club is a non profit organization intended to provide support for stay-at-home and part time working mothers. We strive to support each other, provide fun and education for our children, and give back to the community. Our club is one of over 40 in Connecticut.  It was formed in November 2001 to cover the towns of Norwich, Griswold, Jewett City, Lisbon, Franklin, Versailles, Preston, Voluntown, Montville, Uncasville, Bozrah, Baltic, Plainfield, Canterbury, and Moosup. We are very excited you are visiting our page and hope you'll consider joining our club!! MOMS Club activities are planned for during the day, with the exception of MOMS Night Out. Children are welcome to attend all day time activities.  If you are interested in becoming a member, we invite you to attend 1-2 play dates before joining. We hold an "open play date" every month as well, which is open to anyone, member or not. Please check our Facebook page to learn more info about the location and time of the open play date. During the school year, we usually hold them every Friday, at the Wequonnoc Elementary School from 9:00-10:30.

The MOMS Club of Norwich is led by our Executive Board, which consists of a President, Membership Vice President, Administrative Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. We are also a 501c(3) non-profit organization that looks to serve our community in many ways. Membership costs $25 annually, but if you wish to join and are facing financial hardship, other arrangements can be made.

Additionally, we offer an Associate Membership, which allows the member to participate in all "special events" (such as Trunk or Treat or Holiday Parties), Moms Night Out, and all summer activities. This is a great option for teachers or members with school-aged kids that may need something to do during the summer! The membership is offered at a reduced rate of $15 per year.

Our Activities

The Norwich MOMS Club members enjoy participating in a variety of activities.  We are always looking for fun, exciting and educational things to do and see.

Play Groups/Committees
Currently, we have 7 playgroups or events that meet each month. They include the baby playgroup, toddler playgroup, storybook cooks, preschool playgroup, MOMS Time Out, MOMS Night Out, and a walking group. Members are welcome to add a play date at any time, so our monthly calendar is usually quite full. The MOMS Club of Norwich is also proud to have a "helping hands " committee as well. Helping Hands provides support to a mother/family in a time of need. We provide anything from meals after the birth of a child, transportation after illness or injury, babysitting support if a death occurs, and much more.

MOMS Night Out/MOMS Time Out
Every once in awhile, a Mom needs a night out with friends. Once a month, we schedule a child free activity (nursing children welcome). We go to the movies, out to eat, we have game night, spa nights, etc. The point is to rejuvenate and have the opportunity to converse with other adults. We also feature a day time version, where children are welcome. This is called Mom's Time Out, and is often held in the morning hours, and usually includes coffee and breakfast.

Meetings
The executive board meets during the first or second week of every month.   Our monthly All Member Social and Business Meeting is held during the third or fourth week of every month at varying locations across our membership area.  This is an open meeting so if you are interested in checking us out or for more details about these meetings, please contact us.

Community Service

Part of belonging to the MOMS Club of Norwich is our dedication to providing quality community service projects.  We will select charities and organizations that benefit the mothers and children in our community and will provide help in any way possible. The MOMS Club of Norwich has successfully fund-raised for The March of Dimes, The Hole in the Wall Gang Camp, The American Cancer Society, TVCCA, and many more.  If you know of a worthy cause, please contact our Administrative VP.

"I joined the MOMS Club in 2013 when my son was 11 months old, at a time when I was home alone with my precious baby. I yearned for some adult interaction. Two years later, I've made some wonderful friends, my son has made wonderful friends, and we've been involved in community fundraising. Thank you, MOMS Club!"
-Jessica, mother of 3

"I joined the MOMS Club of Norwich when my daughter was 2.5 yrs old. I wish I had found it sooner! The friendships, the support, and advice I've gotten from this great group of moms has made my life so much richer. I know I've found friends for life, as has my daughter. I can't thank these ladies enough for all they've given me over the last 3+ years!"
-Hether, mother of 2

"The MOMS Club was a saving grace for me. Having grown up out of state, I didn't know anyone out here. When I had my daughter, I felt isolated, until I joined the MOMS Club. It's nice to know there is always something to do! Everyone is always willing to help out in any way they can, and that's a huge deal when you don't have a large support system in your area. I have made life long friends, and I am so thankful!"
-Jenna, mother of 2
