GO MOJO!

YES WE CAN

OPPORTUNITY IS WHO WE ARE!

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will, stop for a moment and just be still...

When the funds are low to zero and the debts are high.....you want to smile, but you sigh, and decide to smile instead of cry...

When care is pressing you down a bit,
Rest, if you must – but don’t you quit.

Life is too short with its twists and turns,
As every one of us sometimes learns,

And many a failure turns about,
When they might have won had they stuck it out;

Often the goal is nearer than It seems to a blurred eyed  and faltering human being,

Don’t give up, though the pace seems slow, You might succeed with another blow.
Often the struggler has given up, but TOGETHER WE CAN turn this place up.

Let's not
learn too late, there are many lives at stake..

Success is failure turned
inside out – The silver tint of the clouds of doubt –

And you never can tell how close you are, so when the road ahead seems so far;  go ahead and wish upon a star...

PLEASE DO NOT FEAR...your team is near
So stick to the fight when you’re hardest hit - It’s when things seem worst that you mustn't quit.

Look around you never know....who are our true heros.

A New Presidential Task Force to Expand Opportunity

For Immediate Release
February 27, 2014

FACT SHEET: Opportunity for all: President Obama Launches My Brother’s Keeper Initiative to Build Ladders of Opportunity For Boys and Young Men of Color

“I’m reaching out to some of America’s leading foundations and corporations on a new initiative to help more young men of color facing especially tough odds to stay on track and reach their full potential.”

– President Barack Obama, January 28, 2014

(NOTE:  THIS IS A PICTURE HANGING IN THE DOWNTOWN LAS VEGAS CITY HALL BUILDING)
“There are a lot of kids out there who need help, who are getting a lot of negative reinforcement. And is there more that we can do to give them the sense that their country cares about them and values them and is willing to invest in them?”

– President Barack Obama, July 19, 2013

President Obama is taking action to launch My Brother’s Keeper

– a new initiative to help every boy and young man of color who is willing to do the hard work to get ahead. For decades, opportunity has lagged behind for boys and young men of color. But across the country, communities are adopting approaches to help put these boys and young men on the path to success. The President wants to build on that work. We can learn from communities that are partnering with local businesses and foundations to connect these boys and young men to mentoring, support networks, and skills they need to find a good job or go to college and work their way up into the middle class. And the Administration will do its part by helping to identify and promote programs that work.

That starts by using proven tools that expand opportunity at key moments in the lives of these young people. The President believes this includes ensuring access to basic health, nutrition, and to high-quality early education to get these kids reading and ready for school at the youngest age. But that’s not enough. We need to partner with communities and police to reduce violence and make our classrooms and streets safer. And we need to help these young men stay in school and find a good job– so they have the opportunity to reach their full potential, contribute to their communities and build decent lives for themselves and their families. ....Read More

Youth At Risk-LET'S #ENDAIDS by working together and giving
LAS VEGAS YOUNG people opportunities live out life beyond their wildest dreams.

GOMOJO has a direct focus on youth ages 13-24 and young people ages 25-33 the fastest growing population and population at greatest risk for new infections of HIV/AIDS.
We have just scraped the surface in the gathering of the Las Vegas community resources, tools and means and methods available for training, technical assistance, information dissemination and technology transfer to CBOs, Health Departments, and CPGs to strengthen HIV prevention for racial/ethnic minority populations and subpopulations.

We aim to not only bring awareness of the current situation young people in Las Vegas face but with tailored resources to stave off new infections.

LET"S DO this..#DTLVMost urban revitalization efforts are centered in cities with vacant, crumbling buildings. Our Downtown doesn’t have those. To quickly create spaces for new businesses here requires innovative thinking, so we’re using repurposed shipping containers as places for entrepreneurs to follow their passions. DO IT IN LESS THAN FIVE YEARS. To make those goals happen, we’re focusing on: ARTS, MUSIC & CULTURE
