Dr. Mohammed Javed, is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of IT, IIIT Allahabad, since 2018, and has research experience of 08 years in the areas of image processing, pattern recognition, and compression of images and videos. He is also an External Affiliate Member - Institute for Artificial Intelligence and Data Science, University at Buffalo, New York, USA. He was a Visiting Researcher at Takushoku University, Tokyo, Japan in June 2023. In June-July 2022, he was a visiting faculty researcher at Institute of AI and Data Science, University at Buffalo, USA with Prof. David Doermann. He obtained his Ph.D degree from the University of Mysore, which was focused on the topic of detecting text in compressed document images under the supervision of Prof. P. Nagabhushan. In 2014, his PhD Thesis was shortlisted for the 4th IDRBT (Established by Reserve Bank of India)  Doctoral Colloquium held at Hyderabad and ICVGIP Ph.D. Symposium held at IISc. Bangalore. He was also a research Intern at ISI Kolkata in 2013 and 2014 under Prof. B. B. Chaudhuri. He has published more than 60+ research papers. He has presented research papers in reputed conferences like DCC2020, HIS2016, ICDAR2015, and ACPR2013. He has successfully supervised one Ph.D. student at IIIT Allahabad, and 2 more Scholars are working towards Ph.D. He has been reviewing research articles from IEEE Transactions on Biomedical and Health Informatics, Elsevier-Digital Signal Processing, and many other reputed journals. He is currently investigating 2 R&D projects, which includes an R&D Project from the Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India. He is the Recipient of SERB-DST young scientist travel grant for DCC2020, UTAH, USA and SERB-DST Travel Grant for GREC2023 (ICDAR2023) at San Jose, USA. He has also received Grant-In-Aid from SERB-DST, CSIR, DRDO and ISRO several times for conducting different international events like ADASIVA (since 2018), IAPR-CVIP (2020), IAPR-CVMI (2022), IEEE-UPCON (2022). He was the Organising Chair for the first edition of IAPR Endorsed CVMI-2022 International Conference and  9th IEEE UPCON-2022 International Conference held at IIIT Allahabad the year 2022. He has presented his research work in Malaysia, Morocco, UAE, France, Japan and USA.
