Bio:

Mohammad Mozaffari is a senior researcher at Ericsson Research, Silicon Valley, USA. His research interests span diverse areas, including 5G and 6G wireless networks, non-terrestrial networks (NTN), IoT, and machine learning. He received the Ph.D. degree in electrical and computer engineering from Virginia Tech, M.Sc. and B.Sc. from the University of Calgary and Sharif University of Technology, respectively. He received a 2019 Outstanding Ph.D. Dissertation Award in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics from Virginia Tech. He is the recipient of the 2019 IEEE ComSoc Young Author Best Paper Award, the 2020 IEEE WCNC Best Paper Award, and the 2020 Exemplary Reviewer Award for IEEE Transactions on Communications. He received "the 2021 AI 2000 Most Influential Scholar Award (Honorable Mention)" for outstanding and vibrant contributions in the field of the Internet of Things.  He is the author of a book on UAV Communications and over 40 IEEE journal and conference papers. He is involved in the 3GPP standardization for various 5G and beyond topics and contributed to over 30 patents. He has actively served as the Technical Program Committee (TPC) member for a variety of conferences such as ICC and GLOBECOM.  He is currently an associate editor of the IEEE Vehicular Technology Magazine and journal of Frontiers in Communications and Networks.
