Curriculum Vitae

Mwaffaq Otoom, Ph.D

Research Synopsis:

I’ve come from a strong background on designing efficient embedded systems where I studied the sea change in computer design – specifically the emerging single-user, multicore mobile devices, and developed new foundations parallel to those of traditional computing. A personal experience in my family triggered my thinking to realize that one beauty of research is to apply the gained technological knowledge in something that disadvantaged people can take advantage of. Thus, my current research focus is on the development of assistive embedded systems, integrating several cutting-edge technologies such as Internet of Things (IoTs), Ambient Intelligence (AmI), and Machine Learning.
