Comprised of two locations: the acre of state owned land where the monument to the battle has been since 1910 near Sibley’s 1862 campsite, which has an informational sign available for visitors to read,  and the roughly 54 acre area east of 600 street and north of the creek where much of the actual battle occurred. However this second area is only open from January 1st until September 30th
