Scott County Historical Society And Stans Museum

The Scott County Historical Society was created in 1969 with the mission to locate, collect, preserve, and exhibit historic material, while at the same time share these materials with the local population. In 1994, they received a grant from the Stans Foundation, which led to acquiring their current building, the restored childhood home of Maurice Stans. This agreement also led to the creation of an endowment, and the Historical Society becoming the owner and custodian of the African and Stans Government Collections.
