Treaty Site History Center

One of the branches of the Nicollet County Historical society, at the Treaty Site History Center, visitors can walk the ground where the Treaty of Traverse des Sioux was signed in 1851, and once inside the Center itself, see the exhibits that narrate how the area was changed forever by  the negotiation and signing of that treaty.
Adjacent to the history center is the Traverse des Sioux State Historic Site, where the first of two treaties was negotiated.  The park contains self-guided interpretive trails which are free to he public.
