Ottawa Bluffs

The Ottawa Bluffs Nature Preserve was purchased in 1975 by the Nature Conservancy, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving natural habitats around the world.  The goal of the Ottawa Bluffs Preserve is to preserve the oak savannah through the use of controlled burns, designed to simulate the natural fire cycle.  In addition to the wildlife, the preserve also contains an American Indian burial mound.  There are no facilities in the preserve, the nearest ones are in St. Peter.
