Brown County Historical Society
        The goal of the Brown County Historical Society is to study and preserve the history of the county, and to share the knowledge that it collects with the public.   The society collaborates with the New Ulm Public Library, and also has its own research library both on-site and online.  It is  home to a museum featuring exhibits dedicated important historical events and figures connected to Brown County, including an exhibit on the U.S.-Dakota War. It also provides a variety of educational programming for all age groups.  The building itself is on the National Register of Historic Places, noted for its unique Northern German Renaissance architecture.
