    The Big Stone County Historical Society Museum aims to collect and preserve information about the its local history and to make that information available for future generations. They also work to collect and preserve historic buildings, monuments, sites and trails in the area. At the museum there is a walking trail available for people to use which allows them to walk around the lake and see some of the outdoor historic displays including fossils, and models of a farm house and two log cabins and others.
