Dear Parents/ Guardians and Students,

Welcome to the Malone Middle School.  Sixth grade is a transition from elementary to middle school.  Our team will strive to make sixth grade a positive experience.

Reading Workshop: The goal in reading class is for all sixth grade students to become equipped with skills and strategies for comprehension, critical thinking, vocabulary, fluency, and literary appreciation. With our goal in mind, Reading Workshop will be the primary focus in reading class for our sixth graders. Reading workshop is a literature based, individualized reading program which focuses on reading comprehension and writing, fluency, and critical thinking skills. Your child should have a book in progress at all times and read outside of class everyday.
