Built by Martens, Olsen & Co. of Laksevåg, Bergen, for Det Nordenfjeldske Dampskibsselskab, delivered in early July 1886. Shipyard number, 21.

 

963 gross, 702 nett tonnes. Registered length 195.8 feet, beam 29.2 feet, depth 20.7 feet. 174 nom. HP, 840 IHP, Martens, Olsen triple expansion engine, 10 or 11 knots. Rebuilt 1894, 928 gross, 571 nett tonnes.

 

On Hurtigrute from 6 June 1895 until delivery of Erling Jarl in January 1896, and also from 4 October 1899 until replaced by Haakon Adalstein in 1903. 

 

Intended initially for Hamburg to Vadsø stamlinje and for summer cruising. Between 1906 and 1909 transferred to Oslo – Bergen – Trondheim route 7b.

 

Stranded and sank on 10 July 1909 on Bjogna while northbound crossing Hustadvika.
