Built as Bornholm by Burmeister & Wain, København, for Dampskibsselskab på Bornholm af 1866, of Rønne, Bornholm, delivered in March 1930. Shipyard number, 123.

 

1,350 gross, 804 nett, 570 deadweight tonnes. Overall length 254.7 feet, beam 38.1 feet, depth 18.5 feet. 1,600 BHP, 6-cylinder 4T EV DM B&W diesel, 14 knots.

 

Operated on Bornholm to København service.

 

Purchased on 30 August 1940 for 3,000,000 kroner by Det Nordenfjeldske Dampskibsselskab. Rebuilt between 1940 and 1942 at Fredrikstad M/V, 1,789 gross, 992 nett tonnes.

 

First Hurtigrute sailing on 30 October 1942.

 

Requisitioned on 21 September 1944 and rebuilt for troop transport. Returned to Nordenfjeldske in May 1945. Returned to Hurtigrute service on 6 July 1945 after quick refit.

 

Renamed Harald Jarl in February 1956. Sold in August 1956 to Lübeck Linie of Lübeck, renamed Nordland. Rebuilt for cruising. Sold in 1970 to Oy Carelia Lines of Helsinki, renamed Suvetar. Arrived Avilés, Spain, under tow on 27 April 1974 for breaking up.
