Built by Aker Trøndelag (formerly Trondhjems M/V), Trondheim, for Ofotens Dampskibsselskab, delivered on 16 December 1982. Shipyard number, 827 (Trondhjems M/V), 298 (Aker Trøndelag). Cost, 158,000,000 kroner.

 

4,072 gross, 2.076 nett, 1,160 deadweight tonnes. Overall length 357.0 feet, beam 54.5 feet, depth 21.0 feet. 6,400 BHP, two 3,200 BHP Bergen Diesel KVM-16 diesels, 17.5 knots. Two 401 BHP Brunvoll SPT-VP bow thrusts.

 

Became part of Ofotens og Vesteraalens Dampskibsselskab fleet on 1 January 1988. Rebuilt in November 1989 at Motorenwerk, Bremen, at a cost of 45,000,000 kroner, to increase cabin capacity. 6,257 gross tonnes. Refit in February 1995 at Haugesund M/V. Became part of Hurtigruten Group (now Hurtigruten ASA) fleet in March 2006.

 

On Hurtigrute from 17 December 1982 to 2007. Last arrival at Bergen on 21 February 2007.

 

Chartered to Norsk Hydro as accommodation ship from 1 to 21 October 2006. Sold in February 2007 for 62,000,000 kroner to Rogaland Videregående Sjøaspirantskole, renamed Gann.
