Built by Blohm & Voss, Hamburg, for Det Nordenfjeldske Dampskibsselskab, delivered on 24 July 1956. Shipyard number 789.


2,196 gross, 1,097 nett, 659 deadweight tonnes, overall length 266.6 feet, beam 41.5 feet, depth 14.9/21.4 feet. 2,960 BHP, 10-cylinder 2T EV DM MAN diesel, 16 knots.


Major refit at Mjellem & Karlsen yard in late autumn 1983, main and auxiliary engines modified to burn heavy oil.


Became part of Troms Fylkes Dampskibsselskab fleet in August 1989.


On Hurtigrute from 1956 to 1996.


Sold in January 1996 to Rogaland Sjøaspirantskole, Stavanger, renamed Gann. Combined rôle of training ship and cruise ship, operating in summer between Stavanger and Nordkapp, and occasionally venturing to Svalbard as well.  Refitted in 2002, replaced in March 2007 by Narvik and sold to Sørlandets Seilende Skoleskibs Institution, renamed Sjøkurs.
