Built by Fredrikstad M/V, Fredrikstad, for Vesteraalens Dampskibsselskab, delivered in February 1932. Shipyard number, 269. Cost, 1,300,000 kroner.

 

1,571 gross, 915 nett, 760 deadweight tonnes. Overall length 248.6 feet, beam 38.1 feet, depth 14.4/21.7 feet. 359 nom. HP, 2,200 IHP, FMV triple expansion engine, 17.25 knots.

 

Rebuilt, radar fitted, converted to oil-firing, at Trondhjems M/V from February 1948 to 1949. Major refit at Akers M/V between February and April 1958.

 

On Hurtigrute from 1932 to 1964.

 

Renamed Vågan in December 1963, laid up at Laksevåg on 14 May 1964, sold on 23 May 1964 to 1964 Kypros Comp. Nav. (Troodos Shipping and Trading according to other sources) of Limassol, Cyprus.  Rebuilt, renamed Kypros, operated Pireás/Brindisi – Limassol – Haifa service. Total constructive loss following fire 200 metres offshore at Haifa on 10 November 1966, scrapped Haifa.
