The Manchester Mountain Bike Search and Rescue team (MBSAR) has been serving the community since 1996.  The team is made up of volunteers who are experienced mountain bikers dedicated to helping others.

MBSAR's mission is to search for lost, missing or injured persons in the woods or in more urban settings.  With over 25 members (mountain bike riders and communicators), the team is available 24/7/365 with rapid search capabilities, basic first aid and expert trail knowledge as well as experience with street and urban searches.

As a volunteer search team, MBSAR deploys as part of Manchester CERT and MBSAR functions within the National Incident Management System framework.
MBSAR works with, and is supported by, sister teams that include Search Management, Base Operations, Communications, Canine SAR and Ground Searchers.
