MLK Community Build discussion group starts Dec. 12th at the First Unitarian Church of Ithaca, on the corner of Buffalo St. & Aurora St.
As part of the MLK Community Build initiative here in Ithaca and Tompkins County, our pre-service 9 AM Sunday morning Adult Ed Forums will have six sessions of guided discussion of Dr. King's last book Where Do We Go From Here: Chaos or Community? to be led by Professors Dick Franke and Barbara Chasin (who presently facilitate similar sessions at EcoVillage at Ithaca).
All participants will receive, at no cost, copies of the books and we also have use of the study guide that goes with the book.
To register for the course or if you have any questions, please email Monty Berman at firstname.lastname@example.org or leave a message at 272-1809.
The Forum dates for the MLK discussions are 12/12, 12/19, 1/9, 1/23, 2/6, and 2/20.
The Tompkins County Workers' Center and Southside Community Center hold a monthly reading group on the second Tuesday of every month (6:30pm-8:00pm).
The goals of the group are simply to discuss a new chapter each month (sequentially) and try to connect the text with the present day. All are invited; new participants welcome.
The Southside Community Center (305 S. Plain St.) will be the location. Email Pete Meyers (email@example.com) for more information.
