Robin Ewing is a reference librarian and chairs the library’s assessment committee at St. Cloud State University. She earned her MLIS in 2001 from the University of Oklahoma and is a past president of the Minnesota Library Association. In a previous life, she worked as a manager/supervisor in retail stores for 14 years.
Valerie Horton started as Director of Minitex, a three-state library consortium, in December 2012. Prior to that, she was the first Executive Director of the Colorado Library Consortium (CLiC), Library Director for Colorado Mesa University, Head of Systems for New Mexico State University Libraries, and a Systems Librarian at Brown University. Valerie co-authored Library Consortia: Models for Collaboration and Sustainability in 2015 and Moving Materials: Physical Delivery in Libraries in 2009, both published by ALA Editions. She is also the co-general editor for the online journal Collaborative Librarianship.
Jennifer R. Nelson is Director of State Library Services, a division which administers Minnesota’s state and federal programs for libraries and the Minnesota Braille and Talking Book Library. Jen has more than 25 years of experience in libraries, working in a number of different capacities at the Minneapolis Public and Hennepin County libraries. Named a Library Journal Mover and Shaker in 2008, she is the author of Technology and Literacy: 21st Century Library Programming for Children and Teens (ALA Editions, 2012) and sometimes teaches a class in grant and proposal writing for libraries at St. Catherine University.
