Tools for School Health and Resource Fair

NEW ORLEANS, La. – On Saturday, July 29, the Mystic Krewe of Femme Fatale and Dryades YMCA will host the 3rd annual “Tools for School Health and Resource Fair,” from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., at the Dryades YMCA located at 2270 Oretha Castle Haley Boulevard in New Orleans.

This free community event is open to all New Orleans area students in grades PK4-12. This year, MKFF and the YMCA are increasing the give to provide school supplies to the over 600 children attending with a parent or guardian. Health screenings, immunizations, sports physicals, dance classes, beauty and fitness tips, refreshments and more will also be provided.

“In our country’s current climate, we must remain ever mindful that we are our sisters and brothers keeper,” said Gwendolyn V. Rainey, founder and president of MKFF. “This community has shown us so much love for nearly five years, and we want to be demonstrative in our appreciation of it.”

MKFF has several community engagement endeavors, including the recently successful “Say Yes to the Prom Dress,” which provided – free of charge – over 300 special occasion dresses and accessories to young ladies in the New Orleans area.
