Easy no-churn ice cream made with sweet Michigan cherries in a rich amaretto flavored ice cream.

  • 1 - 1 1/2 cups pitted and halved fresh Michigan dark sweet cherries (can use frozen or any dark sweet cherry)
  • 1 cup whipping cream
  • 1/2 of a 14 oz. can of sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 1/2 tsp. amaretto flavoring (I used LorAnn) or 1/4 tsp. almond extract

  1. In large bowl, with electric mixer, whip whipping cream until stiff. Set aside.
  2. In another large bowl, whisk together the sweetened condensed milk, whole milk, kosher salt, vanilla extract and amaretto flavoring (or almond extract).
  3. Fold whipped cream into condensed milk mixture until incorporated. Drop cherries into mixture and mix lightly.
  4. Pour ice cream mixture into a loaf pan and cover with plastic wrap. Freeze for several hours until firm.
  5. Allow to sit at room temperature for a few minutes after removing from freezer before scooping into cones or bowls.
