In May 2011 I was selected to be featured in Purdue University's Five Students Who Are Makers series. I was chosen for my work at the Space Generation Congress 2010 held in Prague, Czech Republic with the Space Industry group and our submission from the Congress to the United Nations Office of Space Affairs. Through out the spring semester at Purdue University I have been involved with many activities. Along with my studies I have been serving as National Representative and Co-Director of the Spring Space Forum with the Purdue SEDS Chapter. The Spring Space Forum is a Annual event hosted at Purdue University where Purdue SEDS invites publicly knowledgeable speakers to come and speak at Purdue regarding space topics. This year we will be hosting Rick Tumlinson, Co-Founder of the Space Frontier Foundation, and Mark Erminger, Chief Safety and Mission Safety Officer from the Commercial Crew and Cargo Program at NASA. I also have on going research with NASA Ames Research Center and the Ames Lunar Robotics Academy. I am serving as Lead Radiation Management Systems Engineer on the NASA Lunar Micro Rover Project to prepare the Lunar Micro Rover (LMR) for a 2012 mission to the lunar surface. As Radiation Management System Engineer I am implementing materials into the LMR chassis to block or absorb space radiation to provide for a sufficient lunar mission duration. I am in progress of radiating LMR prototype 6B to determine system stability in space radiation conditions.
