Mitchell J. Cohen is member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA).
He has an extensive amount of experience representing immigrants in front of the Bureau
of Citizenship and Immigration Services and the immigration courts, requesting various
types of immigration relief, including asylum, battered-spouse immigration benefits,
immigration benefits for victims of crime, and torture convention cases. He has been a
guest speaker on immigration law at the University of Miami School of Law and Broward
County Community College, as well as at many community organizations. His
cases have been featured in the Miami Herald and Boston Phoenix, and have been
published in Bender’s Immigration Law Bulletin and the legal publications Immigration
Law and Procedure and Interpreter Releases. The law office is committed to serving the
community. Attorney Cohen has represented on a pro bono (volunteer) basis less fortunate
members of the immigrant population, and has obtained immigration benefits for the homeless,
mentally ill, and the indigent. Attorney Cohen is a radio commentator on the WSFR 1580 AM, Miami,
where he is host of the weekly program "Immigration Explosion!" which airs every Friday, 7 - 8 PM.
