Old Fashioned Goulash

Ingredients

1 12 ounce bag of elbow macaroni

1 pound ground chuck

1 yellow onion, chopped

1 green bell pepper, chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon seasoned salt

1 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon dried basil

1 (14.5 ounce) canned diced tomatoes

1 (15 ounce) canned tomato sauce

1 cup pasta water

Directions

Cook the elbow macaroni according to package direction, reserve 1 cup of the pasta water, drain and set aside.

In the pasta pot, brown the ground chuck.

Stir in the seasoned salt, pepper, and dried basil

Add the onion, bell pepper and garlic to the ground chuck and cook until the onion is clear and the pepper is tender.

Stir in the diced tomatoes and tomato sauce.

Add the pasta water and stir well.

Cook this mix for 5 minutes.

Add the pasta and stir well to mix the ground chuck mixture with the pasta.

Place the lid on the pot and keep warm until serving.
