6 Slider Burger or 4 Regular Burger's
Ingredients
The Burger
1 pound ground chuck
The Coating
3 tablespoons espresso powder
1-1/2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tablespoon chili powder
1/8 teaspoon chiptole chili powder
1 teaspoon cumin
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
Topping
2 cups of Sharp Cheddar and Monterrey Jack Cheese, Shredded
The Sauce
1 cup mayonnaise
3/4 cup Bar B Que sauce (your favorite)
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
Tabasco Sauce to taste ( I use 1/2 teaspoon)
Direction
Bar B Que Chili Sauce
In a small bowl mix the mayonnaise, Bar B Que Sauce, Worcestershire, salt, pepper, and Tabasco. Mix until blended well, taste and adjust seasons. Refrigerate until ready to serve.
The Coating
In a medium bowl, mix the Espresso Powder, Cocoa Powder, Chili Powders, Garlic Powder, Cumin, brown sugar, salt and pepper. Mix well.
The Burger
Using a large scoop, make 6 round balls from 1 pound of ground chuck.
Slightly press each ball placing a dent in the center. ( The dent in the center will keep the patty from being to tough)
One patty at a time cover the patty with the coating, making sure it is covered all over. Let set at room temperature for 20 minutes before grilling.
Just before the burger comes off the grill cover with the shredded cheese mix.
Serve on a bun with the Sauce.
Recipe Tip:
If you don't have little buns, just use regular buns and using a biscuit cutter make them the size you need.
For regular burgers the recipe will make 4 regular patties and coat in the same way.
Enjoy!
