Halloween Party!!!

posted Oct 27, 2011, 3:30 PM by Brandee Mitchell

Whew October has gone  by fast!  Monday will be our Halloween party.  Kids may wear their costumes to school, but please make sure that the kids put face paint on before they leave the house...our idea is that you should be able to recognize them when you pick them up. :)

We will be having a pizza luncheon in class along with a veggie and fruit tray.  Kids will go to lunch recess and the parade will begin at 1 p.m.  Our party will follow the parade.

Remember we still have school on Tuesday, November 1 even though Eureka City Schools does not do to an inservice day for the teachers.

Parent conferences are quickly approaching.  If there is a day or time of the week that fits your schedule, please let me know a.s.a.p. so that I can pencil you in before it gets too crazy.

Picture Day and more...

posted Oct 13, 2011, 3:22 PM by Brandee Mitchell

Picture day is Tuesday, October 18.  Currently we are scheduled for the afternoon slot, so hopefully that doesn't conflict with any appoints.

Halloween is quickly approaching!  Tomorrow (Friday) the kids and I will be discussing games and events that they would like to do to celebrate the day.  Sounds like the parade will be 1:00 p.m. at Cutten with classroom parties to follow.  Parents are welcome :) Stay tuned for more information.

Please have a chit chat with your youngster regarding missing assignments and turning work in late.  I feel like some of these guys are starting to slack and it's way too early in the year.  I know we go quick & there's lots to do, but part of that is jumping to the next level.  Please contact me or pop in if you have any concerns at all...don't wait it out.

CARNIVAL!!!

posted Oct 7, 2011, 3:27 PM by Brandee Mitchell

All raffle tickets must be returned to school by Monday (10/10) along with ticket stubs & money.  Any unsold tickets must also be returned on Monday.  Remember Friday will be a minimum day with the students getting out at 1:40 p.m. so we can set up for carnival.  Please do leave kids lingering after school this day since there is so much to get ready in a short amount of time!

Carnival is from 5 - 8 p.m.

Carnival & 1st Assembly

posted Sep 30, 2011, 4:08 PM by Brandee Mitchell

Whew...we have all survived the first month of school. The kids are working hard and adjusting to my style of teaching and I'm adjusting to their styles of learning. :)

I'm still looking for volunteers to help with our booths the night of carnival (Oct. 14).  So far I have a couple people for the 5:00 - 6:00 p.m. slot, but we are running two games the entire evening (until 8 p.m.)  Just send a note or an email if you or a family member are willing to help.  I would greatly appreciate it!

First awards assembly has been moved to Thursday, October 6 @ 1p.m.
Blue & Gold Spirit Day is on Thursday....so show that Tiger Pride!!!!

What a great field trip!

posted Sep 25, 2011, 6:20 PM by Brandee Mitchell

Friday we had an awesome time at Moonstone Beach!  Sun didn't come out until we boarded the cars but the students built AMAZING sandcastles, raced each other to the finish line in our relay races, and scared away the bats in the cave. :)

Many thanks to parents that were able to transport kids to and from the beach (Shashi Ajmani, Keri Stewert, & Willy Bowles).  If you couldn't make this trip, no worries there is always next time.

Don't forget to check our hw section each Monday morning for an update on weekly hw assignments.  The calendar shows up and coming quizzes, as well as, buddies and possible projects.
