Sheridan Tennis Club

Resumed playing outdoor Pickleball in May, check out their web-site www.sheridantennis.ca for more details.       In August, two courts were re-surfaced and all four courts now have professionally painted Pickleball lines. Although STC has 3 designated times available for Pickleball, we get together six times a week. Contract Rene St.Cyr for details at rene.stcyr@gmail.com.

Mississauga Valley Community Centre

In August, the City added Pickleball lines on the other two of the four tennis courts. All four tennis cours now have Pickleball lines. They also added tennis straps allowing players to adjust the centre of the net by two inches. MVCC is a drop-in public court facility and designated times were made available for PMA members and their guests. The same court rules apply for both tennis and Pickleball.

Frank McKechnie Community Centre

Started a drop-in program on March 28th; play time - Tuesdays from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm.

2016 Activities:

PMA worked with the City of  Mississauga and Sheridan Tennis Club to establish the first outdoor pickleball courts.

Mississauga Valley Community Centre officially launched two outdoor courts to be used for pickleball on July 19th. The Pickleball lines are drawn on two tennis courts and we share the tennis net. We continue to work with the City to install straps, which would enable the centre of the tennis nets to be lowered by 2 inches. We note, if the centre of the tennis net is lowered by 2 inches to 34 inches, the net at the pickleball sidelines is lowered by one inch (one inch above regulation height). Being a public court, there are no additional fees to play.  Staff at the facility have racquets and outdoor balls to be loaned to new players.  Playing time is from 7:00 am to dusk.  Courts are available for tennis or pickleball and you play on a first come, first serve basis.

Sheridan Tennis Club launched pickleball on two of their four tennis courts on June 25th.  STC is not a public site and you must become a member in order to play pickleball. To become a member, look them up at www.sheridantennis.ca and you can register online. Designated times have been set aside for Pickleball on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.  Refer to the Calander of Events on STC’s web site for specific times. Please note, there is ample open time to play, and recently, they added evening play on Monday evenings, which is not shown on their website.  STC courts are protected with windscreens and LED lights are available for evening play.
