Welcome to 7th Grade!
During Arabic class, students will study a total of 20 lessons in their textbook throughout the year. The students will work on the workbook exercises that follow each lesson. They will practice through games, videos, competitions, handwriting , and outside reading. By the end of the year, students should have full knowledge of the following: reading and writing paragraphs, writing summaries, types of sentences, masculine and feminine, the types of plural, attached and separate pronouns, prepositions, demonstrative tools, relative pronouns, interrogative tools, adverbs describing time and place, the object, antonyms and synonyms, and numbers, numerically and in word form.
In Islamic Studies, students continue to learn the Muslim acts of worship, the Pillars of Faith, the biography of the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), and Islamic manners. This curriculum helps build an environment to discipline, educate, and inspire students to live Islam through the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him).
Students will cover a variety of topics during their middle school science career. They will take part in lab exercises, projects, and a host of other activities to get a hands-on experience and to better understand concepts taught. The following are few topics covered by 7th grade:
Conclusively, this is a packed academic year filled with extracurricular activities which include field trips to various locations that align with class lessons to broaden students’ horizons. Expectations for student and classroom learning is to achieve excellence in Science and to encourage students to understand how the world around them works.
In the 7th grade Social Studies, students continue to explore World History. They begin the year by learning about the Renaissance and reach the Modern Era by the end of the school year. Throughout the year, topics covered include the Enlightenment, the French Revolution, World War I, and World War II. As the year progresses, students will be assigned various independent research projects to enhance their understanding of the material at hand. Field trips will be supplementary to the classroom experience. The overall goal for the year is that the students come away with an accurate, balanced view of World History.
Language Arts is both challenging and an exploration for seventh grade. Students will explore a variety of topics during reading, writing, speaking and listening workshops. Reading workshops range from analyzing different types of genres to evaluating diverse forms of informational texts. During writing workshops, students are guided into projecting their personalities into a piece of work. Students are required to complete a monthly book report on a novel of his/her choice independently. By the end of the year, students will be able to express, explore, and relay their ideas to their peers and teachers in a coherent manner.
In middle school mathematics, the goal is to reinforce and develop the math concepts learned in previous years. Daily lessons are planned with various instructional methods to help strengthen student comprehension of higher concepts and build critical thinking. Each lesson integrates different resources and materials to support student learning. This year students not only have the opportunity to access their eBooks (online textbook), but also a variety of resources which include online assessments, educational games, animations, tutorials, customizable presentation tools, virtual manipulatives, and videos, all via an online portal.

Throughout the year, students have the opportunity to work with their peers to develop teamwork and enhance critical thinking skills through unit projects and class activities. They also have the chance to collaborate on assigned performance tasks and math journals as supplements to the lessons’ real-life application. In addition, students will take trips outside the classroom to explore math connections. The year will be filled with learning and educational experiences for all students to succeed!
