Some of my former students helping me out with Foxboro Jaycees' pony rides one Founders' Day long ago. These students are out of college now so very very long ago ;)

I love teaching here at the Ahern. I went to school here and still participate in town projects and activities through the Foxboro Jaycees. Many students have asked me why I switched from teaching fifth grade English and Social Studies to 5th & 6th grade technology. There are many reasons. I love teaching computers, and that is what my Masters Degree is in. I was also still able to teach English and Social Studies through computers, and work with the 5th & 6th grade teachers.

Now I will be teaching 7th & 8th grade computers which I am really excited about since this year I will already know all of the students! I love having the students two years in a row and now getting students I have had in 5th & 6th grade will be really awesome! :) Something really neat is that I get to know ALL of the students that go to the Ahern. I think that is pretty lucky!

For many years I taught Country Line Dancing lessons after school, and we performed in the Ahern Variety show every year. I ran the Variety Show together with Ms. Morey for three years. I also used to run a Hiking Club in the spring for all grades. We would take a bus to local state forests and parks like Borderland State Park in Easton and the Foxboro State Forest from 2:30-5. I had a Computer Club for grades 5-8 once a week all year, but we will have to see what this year brings. I like keeping my clubs open to all grade levels. I always enjoyed seeing my 5th and 6th graders when they were in 7th & 8th grade. Now I will get to in class so I am really looking forward to that! :)
