A Bit About Mrs. Wernz

 The Early Years

Mrs. Wernz was born in West Allis, Wisconsin (located near Milwaukee).  She went to Bethesda Elementary School, Summit View Elementary School, Butler Middle School, and Waukesha West High School.  Throughout her years in school Mrs. Wernz participated in many extracurricular activities.  In Elementary School, she was on the optimist swim team, track team, basketball team, soccer team and was a kindergarten helper.  During Middle School, Mrs. Wernz was part of the basketball team, soccer team, track team, and leadership core.  In High School she was on the varsity soccer team for 4 years, varsity golf team for 4 years, and junior varsity basketball team for 1 year.  She was also very active in FBLA, DECA, and various volunteer activities in her community.  She graduated high school in 2003.


 The College Years

Although Mrs. Wernz is from Wisconsin, she wanted to play Division 1 golf in college.  After a lot of searching and comparing, she accepted a golf scholarship to Eastern Illinois University.  At Eastern Mrs. Wernz studied Career and Technical Education with an emphasis in Business (in simple terms a business teacher).  After 3 years of college golf, she had to quit so she could finish her teaching degree and complete her student teaching.  Other activities she was involved with in college included being an active member of the Comedy Club Committee.  Mrs. Wernz graduated Cum Laude in May 2007 with her Bachelors of Science. In July 2012, Mrs. Wernz completed her Master's in Education Curriculum and Instruction through the American College of Education.



Mrs. Wernz now lives in the Peoria area, and is employed at East Peoria Community High School.  She had taught High School 101, Desktop Publishing & Photoshop, Webpage Design, Accounting and Programming classes.  She enjoys learning new computer applications and having the opportunity to teach them to her bright students at EPCHS.  Outside of school, Mrs. Wernz likes to read, golf, camp, play board games, travel, and spend time with friends & family.
