• How do I learn best?
  • How do I know?
  • How do I communicate my understanding?

These are the questions that we try to answer through the MYP area of interaction called "Approaches to Learning." It's all about learning how to learn.

Approaches to Learning skills involve:
  • organizational skills and attitudes towards work
  • collaborative skills
  • communication
  • information literacy
  • reflection
  • problem-solving and thinking skills
  • subject-specific and interdisciplinary conceptual understanding

This website will serve as a resource for teachers, students, and families at McAuliffe International School as we pursue IB authorization.

McAuliffe International School is a candidate school* for the Middle Years Programme. This school is pursuing authorization as an IB World School. These are schools that share a common philosophy—a commitment to high quality, challenging, international education that McAuliffe International School believes is important for our students.
*Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its three academic programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), or the Diploma Programme (and in addition the IB Career-related Certificate). Candidate status gives no guarantee that authorization will be granted.
