The 20th annual conference of GTEC, Canada’s Government Technology Event, will address many questions of importance to municipalities on November 5-8 at the Ottawa Convention Centre.
“Collaborating & Innovating – Making a Difference for Canadians” will be the theme of the conference. MISA/ASIM Canada is a media partner.
Among the keynote speakers will be Corinne Charette, CIO of the Government of Canada, and Liseanne Forand, president of Shared Services Canada.
GTEC 2012 will feature a Smarter Cities panel session to discuss what municipalities can do to become “smarter” through the innovative use of technology. Officials from the cities of Surrey, Edmonton and Ottawa will describe efficient ways to analyze data, anticipate problems, and coordinate resources.
Seven municipal nominations will be competing for the Distinction Awards, which will be presented at the annual gala banquet Monday, November 5.
Also on that day, the Executive Roundtable event will feature discussions on the theme of “The Transformed CIO: The Bridge between IT and Business in a Shared Services Context.”
The Next Generation CIO Session, another special program on Monday, will give participants the opportunity to engage with technology thought leaders.
The GTEC Exhibition on November 6-7 will be Canada’s largest showcase of technologies and services for public sector service delivery.
MISA/ASIM Canada has negotiated a great rate for delegates from member associations to the GTEC conference:
