About me

I am a Research Fellow at the MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit at the University of Glasgow. I have previously worked as a data scientist at the Urban Big Data Centre (University of Glasgow), acting as a point of contact between researchers, data owners and eDRIS to ensure access to administrative data. Prior to this I was as a data analyst at the MRC/CSO Social and Public Health Sciences Unit.

My current research is related to measures of deprivation and the relationship of deprivation to health in Scotland and elsewhere. Together with colleagues I lead an ESRC funded research project into the health of care experienced children in Scotland. My research interests include quantitative methods and I am currently working on developing the R package SocEpi for health inequalities research. You can find the current version of the package on my GitHub page. I hold a PhD in Political science from Trinity College, Dublin and have previously published on elections, gender and politics.
