Minot Public Schools is hosting Google Days for Educators at Magic City Campus June 6-9. Magic City Campus is located at 1100 11th Ave. SW. (Check the link on the left for Maps.)

There is a limit of 130 paticipants in each session. The registration fee will be $200 per 2 day session (Intro on the 6th and 7th and Advanced on the 8th and 9th). For anyone attending all four days the registration fee is $400.

This workshop will be aimed at classroom uses of Google Apps, including but not limited to Google Search, Google Docs, Google Spreadsheets, Google Forms (which I am using for the online registrations), Google Earth, Google Maps, Google Voice, Chrome browser, YouTube, Google Sketch, Google Reader, Google News, Google Images, Google Video, Picasa, Picnic, Google Books, etc.

Google Teacher Academies are held periodically around the US in areas where there are Google centers. They are highly competitive - the last one in Washington D.C. had over 400 applicants for 50 spots. Participants who complete these GTAs become Google Certified Teachers (GCTs). All our presenters at Google Days will be GCTs.

Google Days for Educators will cover much of the same material as the Google Teacher Academy, but there is no restriction on who can attend and participants do not earn the certification to become Google Certified Teachers (GCTs).

A block of rooms has been set aside at the Grand International. Just call and ask for a room under Minot Public Schools. They will honor state rates. We have 40 rooms blocked off. 1-800-735-4493

You will need to pay for your registration by May 23th (two weeks before the event) or your place may be given to someone on a waiting list. Make checks payable to Minot Public Schools and mail them to Minot Public Schools, 215 2nd St SE, Minot, ND 58701

Note to Minot Public School educators - we will be paying for your registration with a combination of funds, including MDEC stipends.

There will be no refunds unless we are notified before June 1st (1 week before the event) except in extreme cases.

Please upload photos taken around ND for use in the workshop at <TBD>

We will be starting at 8:00 am on all four days. Coffee and rolls from 7:00 am - 8:00 am.

We are planning on having meals brought in. This will allow us to keep on schedule. There is no additional charge for this - it is covered by your registration.

Bring a laptop, but most of the work will be done in computer labs.

You need to create a Google Account if you don't already have one!

There will be a social room Monday and Wednesday evenings at the Grand International (where many of you may be staying) from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm (or later if you want to stick around and visit). There will be Google Swag* for everyone who attends, cash bar, plenty of conversation.

*Swag, according to Wikipedia, is "Stuff We All Get", or "Souvenirs, Wearables, and Gifts" depending on the source.

You can find an invoice for the registration in PDF, Pages and MS Word format at:
