New Stuff Added!

It's been quite a while since I updated the site, so I thought it was long past due.
I've just added some newer stuff to the gallery, including some of the contest winners at Lock n' Load 2012.
Of the 5 painting awards available at the convention, I ended up take 4 home with me, including a nice lump of cash!

I have some more new stuff to come, although I'm still not accepting any commissions. I'll be heading to GenCon 2013, and trying my hand at some of those contests as well. Keep an eye on the site, as I'll keep the updates coming!

No Longer Accepting Commissions!

posted Aug 11, 2011, 4:24 PM by Ghools' Miniature Painting Tips   [ updated Aug 11, 2011, 4:30 PM ]

Due to my finances needing a bit of a lift, I'm going to be going back to work full-time, as my commissions pay me about 50% of minimum wage. It's a tough decision to make, but I'd like to attend some more conventions next year, and in order to do-so, I have to increase my income substantially.

I will be completing, and keeping all of the commissions I have currently, and once they are done, that is all I will be painting for my current clients. I won't be accepting anything new until further notice, which will be at least year, possibly more.

Perhaps in the future, when my financial well-being is on more sure footing, I will be accepting new commissions, and clients.

For now though, it's back to work for me.

Increase in Rates!

posted May 27, 2011, 3:51 PM by Ghools' Miniature Painting Tips   [ updated May 27, 2011, 3:55 PM ]

Due to a huge influx of interested parties, and the amount of time I have to spend on each miniature, I'm having to increase my rates in order to balance time vs. wage.
My new rates are as follows:

Small Based Solo, Warcaster/lock - $75-100
Medium Based Warjack/Beast/Solo- $95-150
Large Based Warjack/Beast/Solo - $125-200
Max Unit of 10 Small Based/6 Med. Based - $200-375
Max Unit of 10 Med. Based/5 Large Based - $265-400

As stated below, this price includes pinning, basing assembly, and possible brass rod replacement, if needed.
With these rates, shipping will be included in the cost, as will limited freehand designs, tattoos, and other minor embellishments.
Any conversions or altering of the models will generally double the cost of the commission, depending on the amount of conversion and sculpting required.

The Workbench is FULL!

Hi folks!

For those of you inquiring about commissions, I thank you for your interest.
But, right now, the workbench is quite full!
I won't be accepting any new commissions until September 2011. With any luck, I should have the current work load off the table and back in their owner's hands.

I'm not opening a waiting list, as it's already very long. Please get in touch with me in September 2011.

Commission Rates

posted Mar 6, 2011, 8:16 AM by Ghools' Miniature Painting Tips   [ updated May 27, 2011, 3:50 PM ]

For those wondering about my commission rates, I usually start at $75 per 25-30mm figure, which is painted to a quality you see in my gallery. Please do not inquire about lower quality for a lower price; I only paint miniatures to one standard, and that is the best I can accomplish.

My rates are as follows, and always depend on the amount of detail found on the model(s) in question;
These rates are for Privateer Press Warmachine and Hordes Miniatures. Other lines will be similar, and rates will change depending on the amount of detail present on the model, if you want freehand designs, tattoos, or other, time-consuming detail and/or embellishment.

Small Based Solo, Warcaster/lock - $75-100
Medium Based Warjack/Beast/Solo- $95-150
Large Based Warjack/Beast/Solo - $125-200
Max Unit of 10 Small Based/6 Med. Based - $200-375
Max Unit of 10 Med. Based/5 Large Based - $265-400

My Prices include basing, brass rodding, pinning and all assembly. I will make sure your models will be able to withstand years of gaming and handling without breakage or finishes/paint wearing off.
If you have models that are already assembled, and/or based, I can reduce the cost.

Postage will be covered by the buyer (usually around $10, unless it's larger/heavier than a few models), and all figures will be sent via Airmail and insured.
All prices are in CDN dollars.
I don't paint entire armies at once.If you wish for me to paint an entire army, we can work something out where I can receive it in large lots to reduce postage, and burnout.

I will generally have a fast turn-around: 30 days maxmium for everything except for units, or larger orders.

Welcome to my miniatures painting website. I will have my gallery set up soon, as well as links to all of my favorite websites, and tutorials.
Check the Hand Cannon link in the sidebar for regular articles on all things Warmachine/Hordes, including painting and modeling tutorials. I have also included a link to Privateer Press' main site, as well as my favorite (Canadian) mail order game store.
I am accepting commissions at this time, please feel free to contact me for a quote, and time frame. Please specify what models you would like painted, if they need assembly and/or basing. Pictures will also help me give you a more accurate quote. I will paint just about any models out there. I do not paint entire armies at once. If you wish for me to paint an entire army, I will accept it in 'chunks', as trying to paint an entire force at once leads to burnout!
