computational models

Models based on the overarching hypothesis that the mind is a type of computer which can be described in algorithmic terms.

Details:

The two major types of computational model are symbolic and connectionist. Recently there has been a third, dynamicist, approach which has been postulated as an alternative to either symbolicism or connectionism. However, it is not yet clear if dynamicism offers a true alternative or whether it can be considered a special class of connectionist models.
