ELECTIONS WILL TAKE PLACE ON 2nd MAY 2019 FOR ALL PARISH COUNCILLORS

Being a Parish Councillor can be a very rewarding and interesting experience – in the last  four years the Parish Council has acquired

the Creedwell toilets, established and implemented an Emergency Plan, provided a community defibrillator, contributed to sustainable

development though direct engagement with planning applications and proposed site allocations within Taunton Deane's Local Plan. The

Council has also engaged in protracted discussions with Lister House over the future of the Surgery and medical services within the village.

It will also continue to work to reduce traffic and parking pressures within the village and holds regular meetings with SCC Highways

and the Police.

Currently the Council is engaging in a series of surveys to understand the concerns and aspirations of residents which will shape its future

direction.

Council meetings are monthly and there are three Committees covering Amenities, Emergencies and the Allotments. Members are

encouraged to develop their roles to take responsibility for topics like Play Areas, Planning, Health and Youth provision, Emergency Planning etc.

As you can see there is a lot going on so if you are interested in becoming a Councillor and would like an initial discussion about what is
